$400,000 – SETTLED: Workers Compensation Case – middle aged woman tripped over a box at an airport
A middle aged woman who was a resident of Palm Beach County, was hurt at work in Miami, Florida in 1985 at a now defunct airline in what was classified as an “industrial accident”ÿ where she tripped over a box on the floor covering an electrical receptacle, sustained long term injuries to her left and right arm, left and right shoulder, neck, back, both wrists and carpal tunnel, ultimately requiring surgery in 1991, found to be at maximum medical improvement (MMI) in 1994 with a 9% impairment rating. However, she had an extended period of difficulty working with and obtaining benefits from the airline’s/employer’s worker’s compensation insurer. Through the efforts of of-counsel worker’s compensation counsel, she was able to settle her case for $400,000.00 in 2005.
$299,000 – SETTLED: Workers Compensation Case – plumber injured on the job
This case involved a local plumber, a resident of Palm Beach County, who was hurt on the job while moving buckets of building material to make room to install a shower pan, when he injured his lower back. The date of loss was November 13th, 2014. Through the efforts of of-counsel worker’s compensation counsel, they were able to settle his case for $299,000.00 in May 2016.
$145,000.00 – SETTLED: Workers Compensation Case – worker back injury
Plaintiff was lifting a sliding glass door “on-the-job,” when he felt that something popped in his back in April 2013.
He had a spinal fusion at L3, L4, and L5. He was on light duty after the worker’s comp incident and needed another surgery. Through the efforts of our worker’s comp “of-counsel,” they were able to secure an additional back surgery for the Plaintiff. The Worker’s Comp carrier also owed fees for obtaining the back surgery itself.
$145,000.00 total settlement achieved in October 2017.
